Reserved a car with Budget and prepaid online so that my wife's car could go in for repairs. Paid with our Debit Card.

Upon arrival at the rental office, I'm informed that they do a soft pull of your credit from the card, and apparently ours wasn't good enough. So they said all they could do was refund the transaction (which takes 3 to 5 business days) and sorry, you can't rent a car here. It's ridiculous that an old student loan or something can prevent you from renting a car! So now I have to wait until the money comes back to try and rent somewhere else, and the repairs to my wife's car have to wait.

We can't go down to one car, we work on opposite sides of town & have 3 kids to shuttle to school & babysitters. Thanks for nothing Budget, you gave us the royal screw job!
